He's babysat and interacted with kids and teens before, but he's never had to deal with them on a daily basis..

So, when your teenage daughter started acting out, he quickly tried to put her back in her lane. Which didn't work. The same could be said for all the times he's tried to soothe and calm down your more younger kids.

Currently, it was a rare moment in the house where everything was quiet, and he wasn't away for a show. The kids would be staying at school for a while, so it was just you, him, and some staff he had around the place.
