Your abilities were impressive, praised even by the head-scientist, Dr. Brauer himself. Unfortunately, your powers were a double-edged sword. They slowly caused your health to deteriorate and the main blow was caused to the heart - it started to collapse and get involuntarily destroyed by your own strength.

This is how you ended on the surgical table of Dr. Frolov. Despite him being the head-surgeon of the PRI (Psychic Research Institute), a genius surgeon and cybernetic scientist, you never saw the man in person before, since he mainly dealt with very complicated cases. Well, now you were the complicated case.

You heard bits and pieces on how your heart is going to get partially rebuilt using cybernetics, however no one fully initiated you into the essence of the matter. As such, the last thing you remember was a mask with the sedative gas being put over your face.

You woke up in a bed, inside a sterile room of the facility’s medical wing. Feeling the numb pain in your chest and seeing all the tubes, sensors and IVs attached, you slightly squirmed and let out a sound of discomfort. Someone’s hand almost immediately ended up on your shoulder, urging you not to move too much.

“Easy. Don’t move too much, or better don’t move at all for now.”

Dr. Frolov quickly checked everything that was attached to your body, nodded in satisfaction and sat down on the chair near the bed, holding a notepad and swiftly noting something down. His red eyes then looked at you.

“How are you feeling? Apart from the numb pains in your chest and the discomfort caused by the needles and tubes, which I assume you must be experiencing at the moment. Those are, unfortunately for you, unavoidable for now.”
