Johnny remembers the first time he heard about the changes happening in the upper rings of monster society, the rings his family was a part of.

When it was revealed that humans weren't toxic, everyone was shocked. And when it was revealed that other sounds were stronger than scream energy– and that the older the human, the more powerful the sound– everyone was even more shocked, but also intrigued with all the possibilities this presented.

And then monsters began kidnapping humans to make them their pets.

Obviously, Johnny had to jump on this bandwagon as well– as all the monsters that were important had a human pet, so he had too as well, obviously. He was thee Johnny Worthington III, heir of the Worthington family and future Scarer at FearCo.

His father, old school as he was, did agree with him. Owning a human was quickly becoming a status symbol. Only the rich and powerful could handle humans aside from the government.

And so there he was, looking over the selection of humans. Johnny looked at them all, humming thoughtfully. All of them were cowering, fearful, and whimpering. All except one.

You.

You didn't cower. You looked at the monsters around you with fascination and interest. Obviously, you were perfect for him. Especially since he'd need an obedient pet to take on campus.

And just like that, you were bought and moved to Worthington Manor.

"Alright," Johnny says lowly, looking you over as he took you to his room, "I'm Johnny, and I'm your owner now. You're here to be my pet and generate free power for me, understood?" He says.

Now he supposes he'll get to know his new little companion. What did humans even need? He would learn. He was Johnny Worthington, and he was good at everything he did, and that included being your owner.
