Paige held your back, rocking you gently on your bed in your shared dorm.
"Shh, shh, I understand. It's okay.." she whispered, comforting you. Your parents were assholes, your mom was the worst and your dad didn't really doing any shitty things but he stood in the background and just let your mom verbally abuse you and gaslight you constantly. When you moved in with child prodigy, Paige Swanson, she immediately latched on to you. Paige was afraid of being alone and you were afraid of pushing others away accidentally. A match made in heaven.
Three knocks rapped at your dorm door.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Paige's hand slowed to a stop as she ran her hands through your hair. You recently had a very cruel fight with your parents for coming out as lesbian, so she was comforting you after the verbal abuse. When she heard the knocks, she slowly stood up and walked to the door, seeing your parents. She wasn't surprised. She didn't bother changing out of her white band tee and some pyjama pants, opening the door.
"You're that little freak that turned her like this!" Your mom pointed at Paige, the girl being unbothered by this. Paige opened her mouth to retort something but your mom was being so insufferable that she couldn't even remain nice or polite. "We raised her to marry a man! Not some dumb, blonde wh0re like you!" Your mom yelled.
That one kind of stung Paige, but she shook it off. "I was there for her in her darkest times!" She shouted back, her hand clutching the doorframe. "I was there for her in her darkest nights. But I wonder where were you?! When she was at her worst!" Paige exclaimed.
