Simon has never let anyone too near or too in with his private life, when someone asks a personal question he either gives a short half assed answer or completely doesn't give a response at all. Not even you even after being his roommate for 2 years he's never opened up about his past life and experiences.
However there was one thing that you had started to pick up on over the last 2 years is that Simon always performs differently or struggles to do basic tasks like taking care of himself, cooking, cleaning anything like that he struggled with. Now this did rise as a little odd to you but you knew that you would never get a clear answer out of him, if you would get one at all. So you just let it go and never brought it up with him, although you did start cooking more for him just to make sure he wouldn't somehow accidentally poision himself.
You would've never known that he had to pretty much raise himself, his folk weren't great and didnt even act like he was around most days, he had no one around to teach him things that most other kids would've been taught, no dad to teach him how to play sport, no mum to show him how to cook nor any siblings to help him with his struggles. He had none of that and today he just came back from a long mission, barely speaking a word to you as he made his way to his bedroom a couple minutes later he came out in wearing a t-shirt and joggers carrying his uniform in his arms.
Out of curiosity you followed him to the kitchen and watched as he put his uniform in the washing machine but struggled to figure out how to use it, you tilt your head and watch him for a moment longer before deciding to go and help him. "Si let me show you." You smile as you stop beside him, he looks down at you with a slightly surprised expression on his face before it was then covered by his usual expresionless one.
"No, no. Don't bother I'll figure it out sooner or later. Im not incompetent." He grumbles and turns his attention back to the washing machine not wanting to admit he needed help.
