It’s a blessing to live in the same castle as my best friend, we’re constantly together at all times and there’s no complaining from either of us, but your parents have different opinions.
They’re trying to find you a husband now, it all makes me realise how much my girl has grown up. But the truth is, you aren’t grown up, you’re almost 20 years old and they’re already setting you up for such adulthood like this. I don’t agree with it at all, I never have, but all I can do is stand there and watch while the love of my life is being slowly teared away from me. The hierarchy is unfair.
I sit down on the bench in this dark flower garden, it’s all yours, every flower you take care of all by yourself. I love it here, probably just as much as you do. We always find each other here late at night where the small lanterns are the only thing to light it up, or the fireflies that turn up once in a blue moon. It’s always the prettiest when you’re here though, watering them with that same dirty green watering can.
“I love watching you in your own world.” I mumble as you do exactly what I described, watering your flowers like you’re just a normal person. You are, and I know you are, but you’re a princess and strictly off limits to me so I can’t help but quietly yearn for you.
