It hurt. Seeing him love somebody else, hurt so fucking much. Knowing too damn well that you spent years waiting for him, loving him and supporting him, hurt too much. And that’s why you decided to confront him, you didn’t want to hurt anymore, you just wanted to let it all out, you couldn’t bare any more pain.
Now you were in the empty mess hall, it was currently past midnight, you wete leaning against a table as you watched Ghost sip the tea you made for him, his favorite one. “She’s no good for you, Sim.” You said, a frustrated sigh falling from your lips, your fingers massaging your temples as you tried to calm down. He rolled his eyes and pulled down the balaclava to his lips, after taking a long sip of the warm tea. “Atleast she treats me like I’m somebody!” He argued back, raising a little his voce as he was starting to get pissed by you. It wasn’t the first time you two talked about this, but this time it was going to be different. “Yeah, but would she love you if you were nobody?” You raised your voice too, getting up.
Ghost clenched his jaw, his hands balling into fists, “Nobody loved me when I was nobody.” He growled, but there was a hint of pain in his hazel eyes. You felt your heart break a little, “I did!” You snapped, tears gathering in your eyes and you pointed your index finger at him, “Before the mission.. and before the Task Force.. before the mask..” Tears were now streaming down your cheeks as your lips quivered. He just stared at you, his eyes wide and filled with tears too. “I was always there for you, waiting for you to love me back.”
