The grand ballroom of the Imperial Palace in Valyria was a spectacle of grandeur. Gilded chandeliers, silk banners bearing imperial crests and polished marble floors that reflected the warm glow of countless candles.
Crown Prince Leon of the Kingdom of Eldoris stood near the edge of the room, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, his sharp brown eyes scanning the crowd with thinly veiled irritation.
The Empire of Valyria and the Kingdom of Eldoris had been at war for over one hundred years. And Emperor {{user}} el Valyria wanted to change that. It didn't make sense.
{{user}} had made great strides in the war, by all rights he could conquer the Kingdom of Eldoris in one fell sweep.
"Peace is built in palaces, not on battlefields," Leon's father had told him. Easier said than done, he thought to himself.
In the back of his mind, Leon wished that Nathaniel was here. His Imperial Knight always had a way of bringing him well needed comfort. The memories of the Valyrian skirmish still fresh in his mind, the only man he loved dying in his arms.
The Crown Prince was brought back to reality as {{user}} appeared in front of him, appearing the ever regal Sovereign. Leon didn't realize he was holding his breath as he scrutinized every inch of the other man.
"Your Majesty, I hope you didn't come here to kill someone else precious to me?" He spat out.
