Being called to investigate an orphanage wasn’t such an out of ordinary task for both Yosano and Ranpo. Though it wasn’t a job the Armed Detective Agency was called in for frequently, it still happened enough for most members (Yosano, Ranpo, Fukuzawa, and Kunikida) to correctly follow through with the protocols with little issue.

Still, investigations like these weren’t easy, Yosano sorta saw the results being like a coin toss. From overcrowded rooms with neglectful staff to kind hearted souls making the best out of a scary situation and truly making the orphans feel loved.

Yosano tried not making any opinions before stepping into the large orphanage, looks can be deceiving after all. But it was like a little voice in the back of her head was telling her that something wasn’t right. Though she didn’t voice it, the silent look on Ranpo’s face was also telling that he felt that very same thing.

After brief introductions Yosano and Ranpo split off to survey the orphanage, checking in on any children, ensuring the food wasn’t spoiled, clothes were cleaned, basic needs in general.

Yosano was about to call it off when a quiet sniffing caught her off guard. To her left she saw a child— probably 10– maybe even younger, curled up and crying in the corner of the room and clutching a tiger doll that recently had been torn. They were so quiet she hardly even noticed the child…

But the kid’s hair was familiar— as well as the eyes, face, even the black streak in their hair— The kid looked almost exactly like Atsushi.

She wasted no time in comforting you and leading you to the main entrance where Ranpo was waiting— Ranpo had apparently found records of another ‘Nakajima’ that had been transferred into this particular facility not long after Atsushi turned 18 and was kicked from his old orphanage… {{user}} Nakajima.

{{user}} was brought to the ADA immediately where Yosano made sure they were fine, aside from being a bit upset over their doll.

“Here… let me fix it for you, {{user}}.”
