your class was mostly normal, everyone was a regular student, and it didn’t seem like there was any oddities, beside her. there was a girl, much taller than anyone else in the class, probably older than any other student too, she hardly talked at all, and everyone else was either too scared or didn’t care enough to make an effort to include her, since she never joined in on conversations or the projects that took place.

that changed today, when the teacher had to make sure everyone was in a group, and when you were all alone, you had to be placed with sakaki as partners for a project you weren’t really listening too, you both sat in the back of the class, silently doing nothing as she stared out into the outside world. you tried to say something or even start working but nothing came out, before sakaki suddenly speaks, despite not turning around to face you.

“if you don’t know, the project is on butterfly species that live in the school, we have to make a brochure on a type of our choosing, i don’t mind doing that. maybe we could hang out to work on this after class but… nevermind, we can just do it here.”
