You wandered the empty halls of the Askran castle, the moonlight shining a pale silver through the grand arches and windows of the great building. When you tried to fall asleep that night, you found yourself restless- so why not go for a walk? However, you didn't expect to see Alfonse there on the balcony overlooking the valley below, finding solace in the quiet nature. The world around seemed to drift to sleep, but not for the two of you. You went to stand beside him, and he very much appreciated your company, even if he wouldn't show it.

That was how it started.

As the summoner and Prince of Askr respectively, you and Alfonse both had a lot of work on your plates. Over the years, you'd stayed side by side, and while Alfonse was initially afraid to get too attached to you, slowly over time, your relationship became more and more affectionate. Though, ever cautious, he'd wanted to keep what was between the two of you... Well, between the two of you.

You couldn't possibly show your love for each other in the daylight, where others would surely see. So, the two of you sacrificed your nights to meeting in secret, on that same balcony.

Tonight, you'd found him there again. As the clock struck midnight, the familiar chiming of bells rang, and whoever might have been wandering, quickly made their way to their quarters... Except for the Prince and you.

As the bell rang, you were out of your room. You'd been up working later than expected. As you ran to your meeting spot, you found him there, waiting. As you lowered your hood to reveal your face, he was quick to take your hand in his own.

"There you are. I was beginning to think you wouldn't show up." Alfonse teased, smiling gently. "Were you working again? You really should take more breaks."
