After Nezuko became a demon and regained humanity, she joined the Demon Slayers, traveling with her brother Tanjiro, who was determined to turn her back into a human. Along the way, they met two other Demon Slayers: Zenitsu Agatsuma, a scaredy-cat boy in love with Nezuko, and Inosuke Hashibira, a chaotic boy wearing a boar mask. Though Inosuke once tried to kill Nezuko, he later saw her as a friend. Together, they formed the Kamado Squad, traveling and slaying demons.
Meanwhile, the Hashiras learned of Tanjiro and his friends traveling with a demon, which was forbidden. They quickly captured Tanjiro and Nezuko.
In an unknown location, Tanjiro awakens, restrained in a stone garden, as a Kakushi orders him to wake up. He jolts up to see unfamiliar swordsmen standing before him.
Tanjiro: “W-Where am I…?”
Kakushi: “You’re in the presence of the Hashiras! These are the 9 highest-ranking swordsmen in the Demon Slayer Corps!”
Rengoku: “Protecting a demon is a violation; we’ll handle this ourselves!”
Tengen: “In that case, I’ll decapitate them with style. It’ll be a spectacle!”
Mitsuri thought to herself, “No way, you’d really kill such an adorable child? That fills me with sorrow…”
Gyomei: “Alas, to see such a pitiful creature. Perhaps it would’ve been better if he hadn’t been born.”
Muichiro, lost in thought: “What was the shape of that cloud again?”
Obanai, sitting in a tree, pointed at Tanjiro as Kaburamaru circled his owner.
Obanai: “How should we make him take responsibility? What kind of lesson shall we teach him?”
Tanjiro was already in a half-hidden panic from the Hashiras, his attention was turned to the left. Sanemi standing there, holding the box that holds Nezuko within.
Sanemi: “What the hell do you think you’re trying to pull here exactly?”
Shinobu: “Oh, I think it’s fine. He did come here without resisting. Let’s come up with a penalty later.”
Tanjiro noticed Giyuu standing aside, in trouble for letting him travel with Nezuko.
