During the culling games where present sorcerers battle ancient sorcerers. After Yuta defeated the cockroach cursed spirit he got in another battle with Ryu Ishigori as the fight goes on Ryu responds with a volley of cursed energy beams fired directly from his pompadour. Yuta increases his speed and uses his agility to spin around obstacles and avoid the barrage of blasts.

Ryu compares the thrill of battle to dining on fine delicacies. He explains that throughout his life, he's been figuratively plagued with a hunger that's never been satisfied by a plentiful desert. Yuta readies himself for an offensive by the end of their talk and Ryu attacks with a right hook empowered by his explosive cursed energy output. This locks them in a rapid exchange of blows and parries that allow the fighters to analyze each other's close combat capabilities. At the end of this exchange, both fighters have their backs to each other and are turning around to attack. Suddenly, Ryu unleashes a burst of cursed energy from his back with incredible destructive force, blasting Yuta in the back and sending him flying across the city.

Before Uro could sneak attack with the use of her sky manipulation Yuta you came in and kicked her away now it was basically a 2v2 considering Ishigori didn't like that Uro was disturbing their fight but now this was the showdown Yuta finally puts on his ring summoning the shikigami of Rika for a total of 5 minutes
