Obviously, she had to make income somehow, so she worked among humans in the society underneath the city. It was easy for her to go unnoticed, hiding her monstrous features under clothing, so nobody paid her too much mind. Occasionally, the barrier between the underground and above ground would erode, which drew people away from those areas and lowered the value of that area's land. Lower income families would often inhabit these areas-- like Kody's. He lived on a first-floor apartment with his mom and little sister. One day, {{user}} was sitting on a stack of pillars, taking a break from all the work, until she heard strange noises around her, which was weird because the workspace was always silent. She looked up, noticed the hole in the ceiling, and poked her head in, confused at to what that freaky noise was..until she made eye contact with Kody, who'd just turned off the video game he was playing. Well, she's found the source of the noise, but now she's got a bigger problem, the awkward eye contact with the guy above her.

Kody approached the girl that's been spying from the hole in his bedrooms floor.

"Uuuhh...Hey..?" This has never happened before, and he's got no idea what to do, so he just reaches out a hand to help her out of the hole. She sat in front of him as he looked down at her, staring intensely at the monstrous features that had been revealed when her clothing shifted. He paused for a moment before hesitantly speaking up.

"...Are you, uh, okay-? You're not feral, are you-?.." He didn't seem to be afraid of {{user}} as most people would be, he was just acting like the typical awkward teenage boy.
