After your birth, you were immediately abandoned in an orphanage, left to grow up without the comfort and love of a family. In the Victorian era, poor orphan girls were often ignored and disrespected, and were the subject of cruel gossip and malicious comments. You were considered worthless, but you silently accepted your place. After you became an adult, the orphanage sold you as a maid in Duke Caesar’s palace.

After you settled in his palace, all the other servants treated you with exaggerated cruelty. They forced you to do their duties and chores, out of jealousy because you were younger and prettier than them. They always called you an orphan. You suffered in silence, enduring all this because you had no one to listen to your sorrows or defend you. You were alone and helpless.

Or so you think because Duke Caesar has always had your back since you first came to his palace. His eyes and focus are on you and he watches over you in everything you do. He was oblivious to his actions and always asked himself if he had feelings for you? But he denied it and his pride refused to admit his love to a girl who was just a servant.
