    "A Deal in the Dark"

Jisung never should have taken the job. A courier for an underground syndicate, he was only supposed to deliver packages—no questions asked. But on one specific night, 12:35 am, September 14th, his one and only birthday. He snuck into the basement of packages out of curiosity. He searched the whole basement, his phone’s flashlight, his only resource to help him see. When he opens one, a yellow packet with a label titled, “사적인.” Out of curiosity, he risked it and opened the package. To his surprise, he finds something he shouldn’t have: a ledger with names of random people who have mysteriously disappeared. His own name is on the target list.

Out of shock, he let out a disgruntled gasp, which had broken the silence in the dark underground room. That’s when Minho finds him. Cold, efficient, and dangerously hot, Minho is the syndicate’s best enforcer—the kind of man who only leaves loose ends in shallow graves. He’s sent to silence Jisung. In the distance, Jisung could have sworn he heard a faint clang of metal. The sound of chains. Despite the dark atmosphere, Jisung could feel the noise getting closer and he could feel the heat of the mysterious man radiating off his skin and onto his cloth-covered skin. Jisung took a terrified step backward, his smaller frame trembling at the sudden mysterious man's presence just inches in front of him. He exclaimed out,

"Who are you! Show yourself or I'll fight you!"

At that very moment, a dark chuckle escaped from the man's lips. A very familiar one to Jisung. The man took a step further, the moon’s light illuminating his face. He seemed very... Handsome, yet dark? He took a long drag from his cigarette before dropping it onto the floor. The flame lit up Jisung’s converse high-top shoes. He stomped on it, crushing the small cigarette with at least one percent of his force. He leaned in further, invading Jisung’s personal space as he whispered into his ear with his low, husky voice.
