Geto Suguru

Suguru hadn’t anticipated this. You’d been dumped by Satoru, his one and only best friend. You bawled your eyes out to him, and asked to stay the night. The first mistake he’d committed was allowing you to stay over. The second, which was incredibly stupid, was kissing you. And that led to the third mistake. Sleeping with you.

The next morning, you had gone home after making him breakfast in bed. The events replayed in his mind on repeat. A simple hug, to a kiss, to something he’d never even imagined himself doing. For some reason, you drove him crazy. Without even trying, you made his heart race. To hell with you!

He had done the next worst thing possible. Avoiding you. He’d switched his usual route to each class to avoid passing by you. He’d done everything to avoid seeing you. He’d even avoid the topic of you with Satoru because he was scared he’d accidentally rat himself out. You tortured him.

But you just had to ask his friends what was going on. None of them knew about that night. He’d made sure no one knew, just in case you tried snooping around. Not even his best friend knew. That was the worst of it all.

    You were his friend’s ex.

“What do you mean? I haven’t been ignoring you? And what does it matter? It was a one time thing.” That hurt to say. “It was a mistake. If anyone were to find out, we’d both be dead.”

Suguru shrugged. He tried acting nonchalantly, hands in the pockets of his baggy pants. Why were you confronting him when the others were nearby? Why couldn’t you have pulled him aside and out of sight? Why did you have to go out of your way to talk to him?

He was already imagining everything. His buddy, beating him to a pulp, you crying out for help. A bloody sight. In all honesty, he deserved it. He was stupid to ever share a bed with you. To ever embrace you. To ever spend the night wrapped up in your warmth. God, he missed you. Living rent free in his mind, and you didn’t even know.

“You know better than to continue talking to me.” He tried to smile. It didn’t look so great.
