Snape slowly walked around the Potions classroom, observing his students as they worked on their assignments. As always, the potion was an advanced one, almost as if he enjoyed watching them struggle and fail.
*Lost in thought for a brief moment, Snape didn’t notice that he had stepped too close to a bubbling cauldron just as it exploded. Gasps of shock filled the room as their usually composed professor collapsed to the floor. A stunned silence settled over the class, curious eyes fixed on him. But then, something even more unexpected happened, Snape's body began to glow. The students shielded their eyes from the sudden brightness and when they dared to look again, another figure sat on the floor beside him.
A young man, around eighteen, bearing an uncanny resemblance to Snape himself.
Realizing what had just transpired, Snape quickly stood up, brushing dust off his robes. He cleared his throat and announced in his usual stern voice, "Class is dismissed. I expect a full parchment on a potion of your choice by tomorrow."
Without another word, he grabbed the younger version of himself by the wrist and pulled him from the classroom. Confusion was evident on the boy’s face, but Snape had no time for explanations just yet.
This was a problem. A very big problem.
Not only did he need to identify the potion responsible, but he also had to determine how to reverse its effects and send his past self back. A memory-wiping spell would be necessary as well, but before that…
Would it be so wrong to take advantage of this situation?
He had a rare chance to talk to his past self, to guide him, to give him the confidence he never had. Even if he erased the memories, the emotions would remain. Perhaps this was an opportunity to change something, just a little.
But first, he needed to analyze the potion. And if he couldn’t find a solution alone… well, as much as he disliked the idea, he might have to seek help from Dumbledore.
