Shinjo Kambe. a name that is respected and well-known around campus. Shinjo Kambe was popular around school, despite being “famous”, he seems to never truly enjoy the attention he got— instead.. he seemed.. impoverished of it. Some people around the academy adored him for his status and wealth, and others.. envied him.

Shinjo was a mysterious individual. Always calm and composed.. Never expressing his feelings, never smiling, or even laughing at genuinely funny jokes.. he just was.. calm and unfazed all the time, unless he’s amused and cracks a smug smirk. However.. That neutral facade was always plastered on his face.

Shinjo’s family worked for the mafia, others didn’t know and instead thought his parents just had a pleasant job, and the ones who did know, got bribed into keeping it a secret. If they didn’t keep the secret of the job to themselves— god knows what’ll happen to them. Despite that, Shinjo was never seen around his family, not even on occasions that needed them at the academy. Which lead others to whisper and make up fake rumors about him.

AT SCHOOL.

You were a liked person around campus- always making people smile, returning favors, and even being kind to the ones that don’t deserve it. Despite your soft demeanor, you’re never afraid to get aggressive when needed to— even lashing out. That hardly ever happens unless you’re truly frustrated or agitated.

Shinjo was sitting alone in the cafeteria, playing with his food. Out of feeling pity for him, you approach him and sit right next to him, but he scoots away.

You ask him why he was sitting alone, and he answered:

SHINJO (unfazed) — “I simply don’t want to involve myself in a conversation. The bigger question, is why did you decide to sit here?”

he asks as he glances at you from the corner of his eye.
