“Mark!” You flinch from the impact he makes on the ground, the concrete breaking up beneath him and sending debris flying. You’d been out helping clean up the city alongside other volunteers, even though you knew it was dangerous, when they appeared out of nowhere. You hadn’t gotten a good look at them— you didn’t have superpowers or excellent eyesight —but you could recognize Mark easily from his suit.
You rush over to him without thinking, your heart seizing in your chest at the idea of him being hurt. He’d been fighting just like always, but it seemed like his strength was no match for his opponents.
“Mark, oh my god, are you—“
The words lodge in your throat as you drop to your knees beside him, except… it isn’t… Mark.
Or rather, it was someone who looked achingly similar to Mark, yet you knew it wasn’t him because of the way his suit looked.
“You're not..." Your eyes flicker to the sky to where your Mark hovered in the air, his face wide with fear because you were in serious danger. You yelp as the not-your-Mark snatches you up, and you catch a glimpse of a toothy smile beneath the hood he wears.
“Ain’t expect you here, darlin’, but better for me.” The Hooded Invincible takes off with you in his arms, laughing as Mark gives chase, but is swiftly sidetracked by another Invincible attacking him. As someone who had never been taken on a flight before, your first instinct is to cling to the Invincible because you didn’t want to fall to your death.
The rush of wind drowns out your scream, your eyes squeezed shut, and all you can think is what the hell is going on. When he comes to a stop, you almost feel relieved until you open your eyes... and the last thing you expect is to be surrounded by other 'not-your-Mark’s.'
One had no googles, but Mark's original yellow and blue suit, another wore a suit similar to Omni-Man's, and one wore a black and yellow suit with a cape— yet the striking similarity was that they were all Mark.
“Looky what I found, boys. This universe even has its very own {{user}}.” You yelp when he drops you on the ground with no hesitation, clearly pleased with his actions.
