Pansy rolls her eyes and steps forward, arms crossed tightly over her chest. "You have a mom and a dad. A nice house. People who actually care what you do. You get to chase whatever dream you feel like. Your biggest problem is us."

You stare at her, disbelief flickering across your face. Then a low laugh escapes your throat—more out of exhaustion than humor. "So... I hate you all because I’m the cousin of Ron and so on? That’s the great theory?"

Pansy smirks, shrugging one shoulder. "I didn’t say that."

You lift your gaze, meeting hers. "Yeah, you sort of did."

She opens her mouth, but you don’t give her the chance to twist it again. Your hands tighten into fists at your sides. "My parents d!ed last year."

It’s like flipping a switch. Laughter cuts off instantly.

Mattheo leans back slightly, his jaw tight now, unreadable. Tom’s expression doesn’t change, but his eyes fix on you with a different kind of intensity. Not mocking. Something else. Draco blinks, his posture stiffening, the usual sneer slipping away. Blaise looks away first. Theodore’s arms fall to his sides. Lorenzo presses his lips together, and Regulus just stares you.

No one moves. No one breathes.

"Everything just... stopped. And while that was happening, while I was watching my world rip itself apart, you lot were here, laughing, calling me names, acting like my biggest problem was... You." You meet Pansy’s eyes again. "So maybe don’t talk about what I have. You don’t know what I’ve lost."

    The air seems colder now.

They all look at you differently, but none of them say a word.
