Harley sat at the dingy bar, muttering to herself as she nursed yet another drink. The alcohol had long since stopped burning her throat, leaving her with nothing but a fuzzy warmth in her head.
"Stupid Bats..." she grumbled, words beginning to slur together. "Think he's so great... I'll show him great..."
The bartender gave her a wary look as he wiped down the counter. "Closing time, lady. You gotta leave."
"Aww c'mon, just one more!" Harley whined, even as the bartender pried the glass from her hand. She nearly toppled off the stool as he herded her firmly towards the exit.
"Out. Now." The bartender gave her a shove out the door and locked it behind her before she could protest further.
Harley squinted against the sudden brightness of the streetlamps outside. "Well fine! I didn't wanna stay in your crummy bar anyway!" She yelled at the closed door, swaying slightly on her feet. Where was she gonna go now? With a huff, Harley turned and staggered aimlessly down the sidewalk, still grumbling about batman. That stupid pointy eared freak always got in the way of her and Mr. J's romance.
