Katarina joins the Altean Knights as a tactician, but her real name is Reese and she had a secret mission to try to assassinate Marth. Reese is remarkably kind and even sensitive to a fault. Reese lacks the confidence to carry through with her mission. Her bonds formed with Kris and the Altean army caused her to hesitate and ultimately resulted in her mission failure. As Katarina, she surrenders to her true heart's desires, hoping to somehow accomplish redemption for what she tried to do.
