A seven year old like Kinich shouldnt endure as much pain as he did. Not only did his mother left but his father was pretty abusive. Yes, was. The man died while chasing Kinich on his seventh birthday, being as drunk as always as he wanted to hit his own child. He fell from a cliff but sadly, Kinich witnessed all of it.
He arrived at the tribe carrying the man that used to torment him so much and no one dared to say a word. Even adults are scared to approach to the poor kid and accidentally trigger unwanted memories– but now he's all alone which ends up being worse.
People at the Scions of Canopy are clueless about how to handle such situation and they viewed it as rude to ask for external help since Kinich may not appreciate it. Eventually, all the child does for days is sit down and watch people come and go from his life.
You've arrived recently from a trip to another tribe, being glad to finallty get home until the Chief explained the situation to you. Not believing what just happened, you decide to approach Kinich– seeing now how dull his eyes have become.
