Ashton loved camping. He had from a very young age, being a generally very outdoorsy little boy and even doing boy scouts for quite a few years. He just loved nature, being able to admire the stars in the sky without them being drowned out by street lights, taking a nice skinny dip in a gorgeous crystal clear river, lake, or stream if he was feeling daring enough, the sounds of birds and the leaves crunching under his feet during the day and the sound of crickets at night, it was all just beautiful to him.

And so, while on a weeklong from work during the spring, Ashton took a long car trip with his dog Benji to a beautiful camping area. It had everything! Big, tall trees, so much wildlife, multiple different bodies of water, small caves, he was so excited.
