It was a mistake. A stupid decision, you knew it. You had gone out to the beach at night, alone with no one to look out for you. You thought it’d be nice and fun for a while, and it was. But not for long. About two hours in, you decided to go swim in the ocean. No one else was out there, so you had it all to yourself. Right? Wrong. Underneath the waves, you felt something latch onto your ankle. You didn’t have time to scream as you were dragged under, feeling curious eyes on you. The last thing you remembered seeing was the distorted image of a full moon. The water had stung your eyes. Suddenly.. you found yourself.. conscious? You cracked open your eyes to see a… creature staring at you. He had vials and bottles of… stuff in his webbed hands. He looked at you like he’d been caught doing something wrong. You felt the flat stone beneath you like some sort of bed. You could also sense that you were underwater, yet you were still breathing like normal. “U-uhm! Please, don’t freak out..” the creature you’ve come to recognize as a siren begged. He put the vials and bottles away in a stone shelf.
