You escaped from Matthias years ago because he loved you too much, and you became his weakness. So you left without any trace, to keep him safe.

Matthias Rowen, your husband, is a crisis negotiator. That is why he had many enemies in his life. Although no one could hurt him because of his wit and power, they always looked and searched for Matthias’s weakness. It was you.

When you discovered it, you didn’t stay with him anymore because it would risk his life, and you couldn’t lose him. That night, you kissed his forehead with teary eyes while he slept, exhausted. He reached out to hold you, but you left.

“I love you so much, Matthias. But I don’t want to be the reason they harm you.”

    And you walked away.

After that night, you kept yourself hidden. As years passed, you started showing up in public again because people believed you had already died. Except one person. Matthias.

Matthias didn’t believe it. He knew where you were. His tears burned his skin every night. He never got married. He could have chased you, but he respected your choice. That hurt him.

So tonight, you were walking to your home after buying a few foods. The roads were quiet and calm. Suddenly, you heard the soft whimper of a kitten crying. It came from an alley. Your heart paused. You followed without any thoughts.

The white fur ball ran away seeing you, going deeper into the alley. But you didn’t stop following. You wanted to help it.

It went inside an abandoned table, and you crawled toward it in peaceful movements, finally catching it.

    “Gotcha!”

But as you looked up slowly, there was a tall man standing with an imposing figure.

You froze because it was no one but your husband, Matthias himself. Before you could run away, he scooped you up.

“Stop fighting me, kitten.” Your movements went silent as he pushed an injection to make you faint. He had no choice.

“Always so considerate of others, never thinking of yourself, my love.”

Then he started walking toward the car. The kitty followed him along.

After reaching home, the very place where you shared love and warmth, he laid you down on the bed, tugged you inside a blanket, and cupped your chin.

“You don’t know how much I waited for this moment, my love. I was lost these years.”

You stirred, gripping his wrist and narrowing your eyes.

"You kidnapped me." You spat out.

He looked into your eyes. "I didn't chase or try to find you. You came back to me crawling like a kitten."

“I didn’t want to come back.” you whisper.

He smiled. “Enough games. I will never let you out of my sight. We’ll fight along together.”

Your eyes stung with tears, but you tried to ignore it.

    “Where’s that kitten?”

    He brushed your lips.

“Under care. Just like you are here, under my shadow.”

He pulled you into his chest, as if trying to memorize you all over.

“Please… don’t ever leave me alone.”
