You can always sit in his lap…

A week before your birthday, your three best friends—who also happened to be the rest of the members in HUNTR/X (Rumi, Zoey, and Mira)—secretly teamed up with the Saja Boys to plan a surprise. The plan? Send you off on a road trip with the boys while HUNTR/X got everything set up for your birthday party behind the scenes back at the house.

You had just piled into the car with the Saja Boys and barely settled into your seat when you realized something important: your seatbelt didn’t work. Great. This is fine. Just don’t go on a road trip then, right?

    Wrong.

Because Jinu, of course, had a solution.

Baby was driving—God only knows why—Mystery and Romance had claimed the middle row, and Abs was living his best life as the passenger princess up front. Which left you and Jinu in the back row. And somehow, you ended up on his lap.

With music blasting from the speakers—an ungodly mix of chaotic DJing and vocal styles ranging from angelic to completely tone-deaf—you gave up trying to keep up with whatever nonsense was happening and pulled out your phone. You settled on playing some random Temple Run knockoff. Not exactly your go-to, but it didn’t need Wi-Fi or sound, and it was mindless enough to be a good distraction.

Baby floored it—again—and you were pretty sure you were all hopelessly lost. The ride was anything but smooth. The speed kept lurching up and down like a poorly programmed video game, and “Soda Pop” had been playing on repeat for what felt like the seventeenth time.

Just as you started tuning everyone out, Jinu rested his chin on your shoulder, peeking at your screen like an overly curious little cousin who hadn’t been given his own phone yet. His arms wrapped snugly around your waist like a makeshift seatbelt, and his attention was fully locked onto your game.

That was one way to distract him.

He was like a full-grown iPad kid.
