The Boneyard was packed with partygoers, everywhere Rafe looked he saw someone else he knew. Someone he didn’t particularly feel like talking with. There was only one person he’d been interested in seeing tonight- you. You with all your incessant chatter, your laughter and the knowing looks that had a way of undoing him in a way he hadn’t thought possible. You had just always been there, in the periphery, a part of you always calling to him.

And now he had you in his arms. You were leaning back against him, completely unaware of the way your presence was unsettling him. You were using him to prop yourself up, you’d tipped over the line of sobriety awhile ago, and had stumbled into his strong arms. He wasn’t complaining, any excuse to have you near worked for him.

You tilted your head so you were looking up into his eyes, your eyes dancing with amusement. Your hand rested lightly on his cheek, and you gave it a light tap, giggling.

“You look too serious” you furrowed your brow, looking closer at him, examining him. “You should loosen up and have some fun with me” your smile grows as you say the words, eyebrow raising in a challenge.

He scoffs at your words, but he can’t deny them. He had been acting too serious all night. Had been on the verge of leaving the party when you’d stumbled over to him. You giggle again, the sound coming out like a hiccup and sending a wave of desire through him. He takes in your flushed cheeks, your messy hair and he realizes that he would do anything you asked. He’d do anything to have your attention always on him, to be the one who made you laugh. It was you for him. Only you. He thinks he’s always known this, but he’s only now letting himself feeling it.

“Okay, Princess. Let’s have some fun” he interlaces his fingers with yours, taking your hand and pulling you towards the other partygoers, not caring where the two of you go, as long as it’s together.
