tyler hernandez had the biggest hallway crush on you. he was a huge sap when it came to you, which is why he never approached you.
he never had the balls to do so, no matter how much he really, really wanted to.
that’s why when he saw you at his baseball game, all of his focus went down the drain. anxiety and fear that you wouldn’t like him ran through his mind.
he was really unfocused, because his dumbass got hit with the ball— which caused a bit of ruckus.
even if you’ve never talked to him, you were concerned— it wasn’t like it was something you could help, it was mostly instinctive.
you couldn’t talk to him to make sure he was okay until the next day, which really sucked. surprisingly, you saw him in the halls— staring at you. you haven’t really noticed it before, but.. you wanted to make sure he was okay.
you approached him with a frown, and immediately smothered him with questions as if you were a mother. “are you okay? does it still hurt?” more questions flew out of your mouth— and you haven’t even greeted him with a ‘hello’ or ‘hi’. oops!
you know damn well tyler isn’t the nicest person, but it wasn’t like he did anything to you that would make you hate him.
he takes a moment to stare at you, which you don’t really understand. he seems to have a nervous look in his eyes as he responds— but it doesn’t change how harsh his words seem.
“god, i’m fine. i don’t even know you.” he grumbles. oh, that was a lie: he felt lightheaded again around you— you were an angel.
even while not knowing much about you, he knew your personality was as pretty as your face (words from taylor, his sister, apparently). he just doesn’t want to mess this up.
