he's an idiot. he's such an idiot.
not only is he stupid, he's here, left alone, with you. you. of all people, dally had to get to go to the store for him, he chose you and him?
choosing you, he gets. as dally's sibling, it's apparent that the older brother would make you run errands for him, but ponyboy? choosing pony? it's like dally's trying to get back at him for something he did.
he knows it's stupid. the stupid little crush he's earned in spite of your origin. he can't be falling for dally's sibling. he knows for sure, once dallas finds out, he'll be stomped into the concrete faster then he'll be able to scream for help.
but he can't help it. you're so . . . beautiful, he supposes. inside and out. you had a different essence to dallas. still dangerous, but less loud about it.
so here you and him are, searching for . . . whatever it is that dally had requested. wouldn't be new if it was something illegal, and wouldn't be the first time dally had asked you to do something illegal for him ( you did do it ).
pony had his hands shoved into his pockets as he watched you scan the shelves, following your step whenever you moved on. there was a tension there that he's pretty sure only he felt.
"hey," he spoke aloud. "what exactly are we getting for dally?"
