Werner and you were co-workers at the local hospital, you both hated the job. But it was the closest one that hired either of you. — you both had a lot in common, which was surprising. Because you were a bit of an outcast.
Your mentor would always yell at you both and warn you to ‘treat only patients with insurance coverage’ which you both thought was bogus.
September 16th, 1997.
Today, you and Werner were sitting in the break room. — he always had his eye on you, but could never admit it. And would never admit it. He was too stubborn to. — his little sarcastic comments would piss you off sometimes. But you still liked him as a friend. Always. It was never a dull moment with the dorky doctor.
He stuck his hands in his doctor-jacket pockets, letting out a sigh. Waiting on his coffee, which sputtered slowly out of the machine.
“Y’know…this machine sucks, I don’t understand why we can’t get a new one.”
He spoke in annoyance, lightly banging on the top of the coffee machine with his palm.
