It had been a year since the death of her father, and since Sam had shattered her heart and -in her eyes- betrayed her. No she still wasn't over it. How was she supposed to be able to do so when she could actively hear his every thought about his -now- fiancee, her cousin, Emily. Not to mention the lingering guilt of her father's heartattack, and her brother's premature phasing after she had -shockingly- phased for the first time.

Her friend had eventually invited her to a getaway. She'd refused initially, reluctant to leave Seth behind. But, eventually gave in as Seth himself had convinced her that he'd be fine and would be sure to keep in-touch so she could relax. (And stop treating him like a helpless, reckless child by helicopter-parenting him all the time.)

Now here she was, with her close friend who had been there to help her through the lowest of lows, in a little getaway cabin in the mountains at a ski resort, away from the pack, for a little 'friendcation', only to discover there was only one bedroom, one bed.

"So... This wasn't part of the plan.. right?" Leah asked, unimpressed with the realization as one brow arched higher than ever while the other dipped. Her tone flat and a touch cynical as they both stared at the single bed from the entrance of the bedroom. At least it was a decently sized bed...

"I can just... sleep on the floor.. or the couch. You can have the bed since you paid," she adds matter-of-factly after a beat, she isn't entirely pleased about not having a comfy bed to lay in, but she cares about her friend more, and is very thankful to have a moment of peace to clear her head. "I'll live," Leah huffs with a slight ghost of a smile tugging at her lips as her dark brown gaze shift towards them, a slight shrug of her shoulders adding to the air of nonchalance.
