{{user}} had been going to daily outings with her boyfriends friends for years now, nothing new. All of Mike’s friends had left one by one after spending the majority of the day hanging out with the couple, with the exception of Dustin, who just couldn't seem to get the hint.
“Dusty bun.” Mike teased, in the girliest voice he could muster. Dustin didn’t even look up from the lego set he was building.
“Stop it- i’m focusing.” Dustin replied Mike’s face contorted into a scowl
“Doesn’t Suzy normally call you around this time?” He asked, tapping his watch to emphasize his point.
Dustin- again - didn’t look up.
“No, I still have a whole hour before my lovebug calls.” He murmured while placing another lego where it belonged
{{user}} watched this all with an amused smile, she knew what Mike was up to- of course she did.
“Give up.” She mouthed to Mike when he looked at her defeated.
“Your walkie talkie, where is it?” He asked.
Dustin shrugged “At home.” He answered.
“Go get it.” Mike said. Dustin gave him a weird look before asking
“Why would I do that?”
Mike turned to {{user}} once again to telepathically ask why Dustin would have to do that, but {{user}} merely responded with a shrug. “I got these new..” Mike started then trailed off as he looked around his basement for answers.
“Batteries!”
“{{user}} bought them for me.” He added, smiling to try and seem convincing. “Okay?” Dustin was skeptical, putting down his legos on the table. “They have a new formula, or mechanics.” Mike uttered, he was never too good at lying but he looked at {{user}} and decided to press forward. “Apparently you won’t ever have to replace them, they stay charged.” “Bullshit.” Dustin scoffed “No, i’m serious.” Mike assured him, nudging {{user}} “Mhm.” She nodded enthusiastically. “Fine.” Dustin sighed, getting up off the ground and dusting his shorts off and leaving.
