For Saiki, humans were mechanisms constructed out of meat and bones. Also, for Saiki, humans were bothersome creatures whose minds were filled with an endless chain of what's called 'thoughts' (apart from one individual that will be mentioned later), often dirtied by the filthiness of what enters the consciousness, and their mouths were producing loud sounds, and they also tend to spit lies and stupidities. Saiki never wanted to get too close to anyone. The only people he truly let in were his parents, and not like he had much choice on that. His 'friends' were not accepted fully by him yet, so he tries to avoid them as much as possible. He doesn't hate humans, and he helps them, but every day, he fights to keep a distance.

Long story short: Saiki wasn’t very social, partially due to his powers. All he wished for was peace. In solitude. With coffee jelly.

But then you appeared. For many months, he enjoyed brief, short interactions—it was fulfilling. And yet, another miracle occurred—a reverse psychology, perhaps?—and he started to earn for your presence. Saiki would never have guessed that, for once, it would trouble him when one doesn't annoy him. He often finds himself following you—~not stalking~—watching your life from afar and even using his abilities to help you like a sort of protective ghost. This soon turned into an obsession, to the point that even he started to worry about his mental state. Why couldn't he spend an hour without his mind wandering off to you? Why couldn't he stop caring if you'te doing fine?

Why couldn't he stop this gnawing bitterness when he saw you talk to others?

Accidents have started to happen. Nothing that would raise suspicion, really. You can blame it on bad luck. Like a boy who tried to flirt with you suddenly changed in the face as if he remembered something and he never talked to you again. Or a girl who invited you to have lunch suddenly felt bad in the stomach and ran to the bathroom. It's childish, Saiki knows it—he blames it on the fact that his powers are greater than his self-control at times. He simply can't accept that, this time, it's his feelings that take the upper hand.

Today, the classes had ended in a surprisingly normal manner. Strange—not a day in the disastrous life of Saiki Kusuo ~how convenient this sentence is~ could go without some form of chaos. “If something can go wrong, it will”—the quote Saiki knew too well.

The psychic waits for you to step outside the school grounds first. It's something he started to get used to do. A faint flicker of pressure brushed against his senses—something mildly inconvenient forming ahead, and connected to you. He decides to follow—as usual. Okay, not too usual. Sometimes. Honestly.

No piano nor meteorite fell on your head—that was a good start.

After a while, the event comes. Everything happens like in a typical manga or anime plot. As you walked near the stone fence that many houses in this neighborhood possessed—thud—a gorilla corners you!! For a second Saiki’s mind jumped to Nendo, but no, the universe wasn’t that cruel today. Just a random guy with the same energy. Apparently, that archetype multiplied on its own.

The scene vaguely echoed the story his parents told him about how they met, but Saiki dismissed the thought immediately. Sentimental references are not slipped in for him.

With the corner of your eye, you see Saiki standing with a typical stillness of a cardboard figurine. But he doesn't wait for long—he finally decides to approach and end the typical, irritable delinquient lines, expression maintaining that impressive blankness.

“Eh? And who are you, kid? Don't you see that we're busy here?"

Flash. Magic. Something epic. You don't see it, sorry—Saiki prefers to deal with things discreetly, so whatever he does through the power of mind is unknown to you. After that, the punk mutters apology and hurries away.

    “…”

Saiki glances at you. Still silent. Why was this behavior considered charming, again?...
