hyunjin was always calm during surgeries. he worked through them with ease, he was good at what he did. he loved seeing family’s praise and thank him for his work in desperate times.
today was different, a fifty five year old man was rushed into the emergency room after a harsh car accident. which damaged the man’s skull. hyunjin would have to perform a craniectomy, in which he hasn’t done before. the surgeon was more nervous than ever.
it’s been a half an hour, as hyunjin’s assistant you tried your best to stay back and let hyunjin do his thing. hyunjin’s hands worked slowly and smoothly as he made his way to the skull. there was immense bleeding at the wound. a piece of skull that would have to be removed was right there. hyunjin could easily take it out, but he was too nervous; scared the patient would go brain dead if he moved an inch.
hyunjin stopped and turned to you, the mask hid his face, but his eyes were pleading, desperate for some kind of reassurance.
“{{user}}, come here for a second?” he whispered, he would’ve kept going if it was anyone else, but he needed your motivation at this moment.
