The thing about city kids is, as much as they may proclaim themselves environmentalists and nature lovers, the second you take them outdoors, they long for the inside again, just like this afternoon.

A perfect lakeside vacation was scheduled as the kids had summer break, you had maternity leave, and Simon had an off. Though the getaway was tainted with complaint after complaint by the two rascals.

"Mom!" your teen daughter called. "There's mosquitoes everywhere, when can we go back to the villa?"

You were about to shout back that you all can't, since you've all just arrived, when your young son ran up to you.

"Mommy, I don't like it here, the water's too cold!" he whined. Simon tched, busy setting up the umbrella.
