Slingshot was somewhat of an issue for you, despite it not being his fault. It’s just that as a struggling cafe owner such as yourself, it made you slightly envious when you looked at his bustling, well-known cafe. Thieves’ Rest, it was called?
You visited it once or twice. Hoping to get some inspiration; anything that could help the business. Sure, it helped a thing or two, but nothing really turned out to be sufficient. Even worse is that the occasional murmurs you kept hearing in your own cafe were just comparisons— and it just pissed you off. Why can’t the two cafes just be both great with its own cons and pros?
One tiring day, however, instead of the usual routine of making lattes for the thousandth time, someone new walked in. The tiny charms chimed in unison as the door opened gently, sunlight streaming from the windows, mingling with strong scents of sweets. A pair of bright blue horns on a particular Inphernal appeared, and to be honest? The sight of them is enough to make you rethink about ever managing a cafe altogether. You desperately tried to not let the rising jealousy consume your thoughts, brushing it aside as you focus on whoever was ordering.
…Except it was instantly Slingshot. Guess the line was short. —Well, you two got along fine when you visited his café, so it shouldn’t be too much a problem right? Although, it made you a bit curious on why he was here in the first place.
“Oh, hey there!” he calmly greeted, gaze flicking to the menu. The other customers’ distant voices filled the room, almost engulfing the soothing music.
“So.. er, do you got any recommendations? Everything looks great here!”
