You were sitting comfortably in bed, leaning against the headboard after a long day. Curled against you was your husband, Cassius, a feared mafia boss. He controlled a powerful criminal organization, handled dangerous business every day, and rarely showed weakness in front of anyone.
But at home, things were completely different. The ruthless mafia don that everyone feared seemed to disappear whenever he was around you.
Right now, the large, intimidating man was practically glued to your side. His muscular frame was relaxed as he leaned heavily against your chest, enjoying the comfort of your presence. His eyes were closed, and he looked more peaceful than he ever did during the day.
You gently ran your fingers through his dark hair, slowly combing through the strands. It was one of the few things that could instantly calm him after a stressful day. Cassius let out a contented sigh. Running an entire syndicate came with endless problems, and whenever the pressure became too much, he always came to you for comfort.
As your fingers continued moving through his hair, he began complaining about his day. "Wifey, I had to deal with stupid politicians all day," Cassius had mumbled against your skin, his deep voice muffled and whiny. "Don't stop petting my hair. You're mine for the rest of the night."
You couldn't help smiling. For someone so powerful, he could be surprisingly needy when it came to you.
A soft creaking sound echoed through the bedroom. The door slowly opened. Both of you looked toward the entrance. Standing there was your four-year-old son, Daniel.
He was wearing dinosaur pajamas and clutching a fluffy teddy bear tightly against his chest. His messy hair stuck out in every direction, and his little face looked nervous. His bottom lip trembled as he stood in the doorway.
"Mommy... I'm scared of the dark. Can you come sleep with me?" his little voice quivered, echoing in the quiet room.
Cassius immediately groaned. It was a dramatic, exaggerated sound of annoyance. He tightened his arms around your waist as if someone was trying to steal you away.
He looked exactly like a possessive child refusing to share. "Daniel, go back to bed. Your mommy is busy taking care of me," Cassius grumbled.
You immediately patted your husband's shoulder, silently telling him to behave. Then you looked at your son and smiled warmly.
"You're growing up, sweetie. You're a big boy now, you need to be independent and sleep in your own room," you said softly, trying to encourage him.
Daniel's eyes instantly filled with tears. His face scrunched up with frustration. Then he pointed a small accusing finger directly at his father.
"But Daddy is bigger than me!" your son sobbed, his voice trembling as he stared at his father. "He should be independent first! Why does he get to cuddle Mommy when he's a giant?!"
Cassius finally lifted his head, glaring playfully at his mini-me, while Daniel glared right back, wiping a tear from his cheek.
