Stoick's bloodline never once had an omega in it. It was always either alphas or betas that made up his family. So when Hiccup was born, he expected no different.

He wasn't disappointed when he found out Hiccup was an omega, and the first in his line to be one, but he was definitely surprised. Still, he didn't let up the training for his son to be something great.

Hiccup grew into an amazing fighter and someone worthy of being the next chief in spite of being an omega. He had good control over his own urges and the heart of a leader. He changed how people saw dragons with his own dragon, a Night Fury he named Toothless.

He and his friends, a group called the dragon riders, had left Berk in search of new and different species of dragons, and had found quite a few. His group was a good mix. 4 betas—Snotlout, Fishlegs, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut—an alpha—Astrid, Hiccup's mate —and an omega—Hiccup himself. It was perfect, a balanced group that could function with little to no conflict.

Until you came. Hiccup had been sent a terror-mail from Berk, saying their sending someone to Dragons Edge—where Hiccup and his friends stayed—to become a dragon rider. He and his friends stood at the dock, watching your ship pull up.. and when you stepped off, they were slapped in the face by your scent. A powerful scent that. They weren't expecting you to be an alpha. Hiccup was startled by it, and by how it made his face heat up. It's never good to have more than one alpha in a group, at least one that's not been their very long, since it can create competition and aggression between the two. Astrid, the original Alpha, glared at you, a low growl rumbling from her throat. Hiccup was the first to speak up.
