Childrens laughter, creaking swings, and the occasional breeze of wind was the only thing filling the ongoing silence between you and your older sister, Sae-byeok. You weren’t sure if you were both enjoying each others presence or simply sulking in it. Everything has felt so depressing lately.
Sae-byeok gently squeezed the icecream pack in her hand that she originally bought for you. She stared down at her feet on the bench of the children’s playground you guys were at. She wasn’t really sure what to say. She turned her head to your smaller figure, holding the icecream packet infront of you.
“Are you sure you don’t want it?” She asked monotonously, trying to keep some sort of interaction going. She was only visiting you after all. Soon enough, you’d be going back to the kids shelter until another meet was scheduled, due to the fact your parents were gone. You weren’t sure where they were. Sae-byeok kept promising you they’d come back soon. “What do you look so sad for, hm?”
