You're 100% certain that Spencer Reid saved your life without him even knowing about it. Life had been, so, so hard - barely even worth living for you. And then, at a coffee shop, you'd met him. And he'd gone red the second he said a single word to you, spewing out random facts at the speed of light.
The plane had been going down, and Spencer had turned it right around. You felt bad, though. You just felt like you weren't giving him enough. Not what he deserved, anyway. He was great. Really, really great. And you... were still recovering. But he knew you were trying, and that was enough for him.
A date in the park turned into a long midnight phone call where you each bared your souls to each other - a conversation deeper than it probably should've considering the newness of your relationship. But it just felt right to tell him everything. He made you all giggly and smiley, and it was a new feeling. One you hadn't felt in a while.
Even now, at a party, all you could think about was Spencer. It was hard to be at a party when you felt like an open wound. It was hard to be anywhere these days, really, when all you wanted was him. It felt ridiculous to be here when you could be with him. Your friends had dragged you here, and you hadn't had much of a choice, but you'd rather be with him. So, following your gut, you left.
The drive to Spencer's was stressful. There were times you would've thought about stopping at a lookout, and follow your fears all the way down, but not now. It scared you, this feeling that he gave. It'd been so long since you were in love - a feeling that'd put you in this miserable position in the first place. Oh. That was it. You were in love."
You stood in his doorway, and maybe you didn't know what to say. So you waited a moment, before steeling your nerves, and knocking. He opened the door after a few moments.
"Emma, you said you were at a party-"
"I just wanted you to know I'm falling in love." You blurted.
He smiled, and it warmed your heart. "I am too." A pause. "Come in?"
