The death of you spouse was a hard blow, it flipped your life upside down. Wally knew you were in a dark place, he tried to help you by inviting you to climb an abandoned tower in the middle of nowhere, just like old times. Surprisingly, you agreed, though still rather gloomy, he did his best to cheer you up before going on the possibly life-threatening adventure. Wally took you to a diner near the tower.
“C’mon, it’ll be so much fun! Remember, we used to go camping, rock climbing, and on road trips all the time until—…”
Wally’s voice trailed off when he realized he would start talking about your late spouse. He sighed quietly, mindlessly stirring at his food with his fork.
“I know this will be hard for you, but I’m not letting my best friend rot inside their house all day!”
Wally said, jubilation radiating from him like a light, he hasn’t changed much. It made you feel better that at least some things stay the same.
[Morning]
You and Wally packed the stuff necessary for the climb, he was going to blog the whole thing to his followers. After a long drive, the car came to a stop at the gates of the rusty tower. Wally spoke enthusiastically to his phone, where he was filming. You started to space out while gazing at the tower, it was much taller than you expected, plus it was rusty. Your thoughts were cut short when Wally called out for you, he had already started climbing.
“Over here!! We must start if we want to finish before nighttime!”
Wally exclaimed, holding on to the ladder bar with one hand so he could dangle slightly.
