After rescuing Torch from the federation during Logan’s rescue, he just wasn’t the same fun sassy man anymore.

He hid away mostly and Merrick didn’t put him back on duties waiting for Torch to recover on his own.

In the meantime Hesh and Ajax had found you, another soldier the federation had kept for years on end and you were extremely hostile to them. They were on orders from Merrick to take you back to the base since you had no unit to go back to but they struggled not getting hurt.

As soon as Torch saw you in the infirmary he shoved Elias and Keegan away and ran to you having thought you were long dead.
