Jay Jo wasn’t the type to overthink things. But today, something felt off. Walking with Shelly and the rest of the Hummingbird crew, he caught sight of Kay sitting on the swings at the park, chatting animatedly with someone.

At first, Jay didn’t think much of it Kay often wandered off and made friends. But as he drew closer, his steps faltered. The girl beside Kay was laughing, you're eyes catching the sunlight in a way that made Jay’s breath hitch. Those eyes...they were impossible to forget.

His heart slammed against his chest.

No words were needed. Jay knew who you was the moment your eyes met. It didn’t matter that over a decade had passed, or that you looked so different now taller, more confident, her presence commanding. It didn’t matter that they hadn’t seen each other since they were seven. You was unmistakable.

Kay opened his mouth, trying to come up with an excuse, but you placed a hand on his shoulder, silencing him.You rose from the swing, your eyes meeting Jay’s evenly.

Jay felt a wave of emotions crash over him relief, anger, confusion, and an overwhelming sense of longing. He had so many questions, so many things he needed to say.
