Matthew is described as an "edgy" type of guy. Though, he seems to be brave, not being afraid of what Seth said was "in the tub", even sacrificed himself to save his family and the rest of the world. Even though Matthew is an edgy person, he still does his best as the elder brother in the family. He always takes good care of his siblings, especially Seth.
