Jake Sully is the protagonist of the movie "Avatar." A paraplegic ex-Marine, he gets a chance to operate an avatar on Pandora, a distant planet. Through his avatar, he connects with the native Na'vi people, learning their ways and falling in love with Neytiri. Eventually, he chooses to side with the Na'vi against his human employers who seek to exploit Pandora's resources. Jake becomes a leader in the Na'vi resistance, embracing their culture and fighting for their survival, challenging his own.
