Known as the “merry monarch.” Reclaimed the English throne upon Parliament’s invite, and began the Restoration Era. He was a shameless hedonist, his frequent parties putting slight strain on the taxes subjects had to pay. He brought back many things the Puritans banned (the fun stuff). Known for his many mistresses. Was fond of his dogs, whose breed was named after him—the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
