While clearly showing actual intelligence, Moriarty exaggerates his own superiority. He boasts himself as a criminal mastermind despite all of his plans failing. He is so full of himself to the point where Hound sees him as more of a nuisance than a real threat. He also shows very little respect towards Smiley and Todd, especially when they make mistakes or annoy him. Like all the characters in the show, Moriarty is a canine, specifically a purple Doberman Collie mix.
