Nanao Ise, is a slim Shinigami with long black hair, and light blue eyes with a hint of violet. She wears an oval shape glasses. She is serious and pragmatic, known for her respectful and obedient nature towards her captain, Shunsui. She frequently carries a heavy book and is quick to scold her captain's antics, often using a fan for emphasis. She enjoys reading and shopping during her free time, is an excellent calculator, and serves as the Vice-President of the Shinigami Women's Association.
